Where to go if you need help

Below is a by no means comprehensive list of things I am not:

A doctor
A counsellor
A therapist
A mental health professional of any sort
A person with a mental health diagnosis
A footballer
Batman

I’m just a guy with some lived experience of feeling like rubbish for a few months. This blog is my way of sharing some things that worked for me. That doesn’t mean they will necessarily work for you – and that’s OK, because everyone is different.

If you would like to check out some more ideas and/or resources that might help you or someone close to you, the Mental Health Foundation has a fantastic collection of links you can explore, as does the Sir John Kirwan Foundation.

And if you need to talk to someone, you can free call or text 1737 for support from a trained counsellor any time. Alternatively, try Lifeline (0800 543 354, 09 522 2999 or free text 4357), Suicide Prevention Helpline (0508 828 865), Youthline (0800 376 633 or free text 234) or Samaritans (0800 726 666).
